This is one of the very first recipes I started making after moving out on my own, and it’s been a staple ever since.

Simple, reliable, and always a hit, these sweet & sour ribs are baked until tender and coated in my signature sauce — thick, glossy, and perfectly balanced between sweet and tangy.

It’s the kind of recipe that doesn’t need much… just good ingredients and a little time in the oven. Serve it over rice or with your favourite sides for an easy, comforting meal 💜

Description

This is one of the very first recipes I started making after moving out on my own, and it’s been a staple in my kitchen ever since.

These sweet & sour ribs are baked until tender and coated in my signature homemade sauce — thick, glossy, and perfectly balanced between sweet and tangy.

Simple, comforting, and always a hit, this is one of those recipes that never goes out of style 💜

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F
  2. Cut ribs into individual pieces
  3. Place ribs in a casserole dish or roaster
  4. Pour sauce evenly over ribs
  5. Bake uncovered for approximately 60 minutes
  6. Stir occasionally to coat ribs in sauce

Note

💡 Kimberley’s Tips

  • Stirring helps the sauce coat evenly and prevents burning
  • The sauce thickens and caramelizes as it cooks
  • Serve over rice to soak up all that extra sauce 👀
  • Add a quick broil at the end for extra sticky edges

🍽️ Serving Ideas

  • Over rice
  • With corn or vegetables
  • With seasoned potato wedges
  • With coleslaw for a full comfort meal
